Burnsville, Minn. USA May 22, 2024 – Protean Construction Products announces the HC-2000RS rainscreen, a new system in its line of Honeycomb Metal Panels (HMPs). Honeycomb panels weigh less than aluminum plate and aluminum composite panels (ACM) while providing high strength and increased wind-load resistance. The tongue and groove configuration is easy to install, providing an economical solution for projects needing large, smooth expanses with extreme flatness.
The AAMA 508-Certified HC-2000RS is a “true” pressure equalized rainscreen rather than a conventional back-ventilated system and provides an unequalled combination of rain control and negative wind-load control with variable face materials and panel sizes for design flexibility.
Like Protean’s other HMP’s, the HC-2000RS offers crisp edges with sharp reveals in the same color as the panel face, without sacrificing flatness or panel edge strength. The panels do not oil can or show distortion and stiffener read-through that is seen in other plate and ACM panel systems. This results in extreme flatness, which is particularly important for projects designed with mirror and prismatic finishes.
