AAMA 508 Testing
CNC was a pioneer in ACM fabrication, first attaining AAMA 508 verification in 2008. At the time, verifying that buildings met the Pressure Equalized Rainscreen (PER) testing standard was a limited requirement. Today, however, AAMA 508 testing is expected much more frequently. Builders should make sure they are investing in a system that meets all requirements. Protean’s ACM-3000RS meets AAMA 508 without costing a premium.
Double-Return Construction
The Protean ACM-3000RS has a double return system, such that ACM material is fastened to the back side of the CNC extrusion system. This eliminates visible screws and rivets in the joint. It also creates a tighter face that decreases wind deflection, which reduces pillowing and potentially extends product life.
Metal Corner Clips
Many ACM fabricators use plastic welded corners to eliminate corner clips, but this fabrication method is not as robust. This is especially true for ACM with fire-resistant core material, which does not bond to the plastic weld material. The ACM-3000RS system utilizes metal corner clips to extend product life.
Fast Turnaround
Protean and CNC have increased routing capacity 250% by investing in the latest router technology. In 2025, panels shipped in less than 4.5 weeks on average. The time between receipt of approved dimensions and panel delivery was 30.19 days.
